Fox Chase Farm
Ever long for a temporary break from city life? Guess what? You can experience one of the last working farms in
any major city by visiting Fox Chase Farm. Remarkably this land has produced agriculture for over 300 years!
For more information contact the Pennypack Environmental Center, 215.685.0470. Fox Chase Farm is located in Northeast
Philadelphia on Pine Road, 1mile north of Rhawn St.
Be sure to check out Fox Chase Farm's other activities!
Check the web site's main calendar of events or click here to download a calendar of events for Fox Chase Farm. There's lots going including Saturday morning
open houses, astronomy night, storytelling, bird walks and hayrides. Come experience Maple Sugar Day, Sheep
Shearing or Apple Fest too.
Children and adults are invited to explore the best of farm life. Resident cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens and even
hayfields and a barn help you learn more about agriculture and farming.
The School District of Philadelphia and the Fairmount Park Commission cooperatively operate Fox Chase Farm as an
agricultural education facility. Programs include an active 4-H club and many visits by school children throughout
the region.
Maple Sugar Day at the Fox Chase Farm was a huge success with many visitors learning the process of maple sugaring, maple candy making and sampling pancakes with pure maple sugar. Click here to see more.
2008 Sheep Shearing Day had the crowd a buzz! Click here to see the fun.
