The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center
Make it a point to visit the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center on the banks of the Schuylkill River. You can create rain, befriend a Daphnia, peek inside a 48" water main and much more.
Lessons here center around "Water in our World", an exhibit with bold graphics and compelling images, such as
old photographs, watershed diagrams and illustrations of water's many uses. You'll learn from both conventional
panel displays and high-tech, interactive exhibits.
The Center houses a classroom, water lab and small theater for multimedia and professional presentations - not to mention activities in which kids can use microscopes and test their water.
