Beneficial, Member HSBC Group
More than 150 hardy volunteers from Beneficial, Member HSBC Group, braved storm warnings to make a dramatic difference to a major gateway in Cobbs Creek Park. Assembling at the site of the historic Blue Bell Tavern, employees listened to historic interpreters in period costume tell the story of the Inn and then proceeded to work. Employees planted more than 100 native trees and shrubs, cleared vegetation from 1,000 feet of trail, and removed more than a ton of litter and debris. Their efforts were greatly appreciated by the surrounding community who will continue to beautify this scenic site. Park staff was impressed by the energy and enthusiasm of the volunteers. It was a great day!
Beneficial also generously donated $6,000 to support the work of the Stewardship Office.
Fairmount Park salutes Beneficial, Member HSBC Group, their spirit of community involvement. We greatly appreciate their endeavor to not only improve the appearance of the Fairmount Park system but to improve the quality of life for all citizens in this great City.
