 Ridgeland Sheep Barn Yes, the park used to rely on woolly 'ole sheep to trim its grass. An early park building, the Sheep Barn originally housed the herd. (Two barns were contemplated, but only one was built - perhaps the concept didn't work out?) The Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust reopened this vacant and abandoned building in 2002 as a conservation studio, workshop, and management facility after a $200,000 restoration.
