Northwestern Stables, Inc.
Northwestern Equestrian Facility is a landmark stable at the edge of the Wissahickon - conveniently located at the northern end of Forbidden Drive at the intersection of Northwestern and Germantown Avenues across from Chestnut Hill College and Bruno's Restaurant.
Northwestern Stables, Inc. a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, manages the complex as a boarding and teaching stable. There are great boarding facilities are available with 24 hour on site monitoring and access to beautiful trails. The stable also has both indoor and outdoor riding rings. The lesson program specializes in affordable English instruction concentrating on the Hunt Seat on the flat and jumping. Beginner to Advanced lessons are taught in groups or privates. Children and Adults are welcome! Periodic horse shows are also held on the grounds for the lesson program.
Northwestern Stables, Inc. also hosts a great summer activities for the children of the Philadelphia community. There is Summer Camp for kids 8-12 where campers learn a variety of horsemanship and riding techniques. NWS also hosts field trips to the stable with campers from the Philadelphia Department of Recreation and a 2 week riding camp with the Police Athletic League.
